Love fashion, jewelry, and bling. I am on on-line entrepreneur and creating wealth and success from the comfort of my home!

Recently, I went natural with my hair.  I was tired of the six to eight weeks trips to the beauty salon to get my touch-ups.  I did my big chop (B/C) April 2010, Easter weekend and am enjoying life free of the chemicals found in your relaxers.

This, of course, propelled me on a new and unfamiliar hair journey.  I was in search for new products that would work with my natural do!  Firstly, I had to learn what hair type I had.  Hair types I learned are classified by a number 1 to 4 with sub-categories that range from the letters a to d.  This will be covered in another hub.

Lotion for the Hair!

This product comes in a spray bottle but I must forewarn you that Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 has a consistency more like a LOTION. Most users will spray the product in the palm of their hand rather than spraying directly onto their hair.

Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 can be used as a curl activator and moisturizer on natural hair.  It can also be used as a leave-in conditioner on relaxed, braided, and natural hair.  This product is non-greasy and non-staining.  It will help soften and detangle your hair while soothing your scalp and providing a long-wearing shine to your locks.

Mixed Reviews Natural vs. Relaxed Hair

Natural

This product received great reviews from these wearers for the summer months. Since our natural hair needs a lot of moisture, Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 seems to meet that challenge.

Naturals complained that this product left a grayish haze and/or dull the hair some and because it contains some form of glycerin dried out the hair in the colder months.

Natural wearers also use this product to "define" the natural curl pattern of their hair.

Relaxed

These wears usually uses this product in conjunction with other products such as gels and oils. This product is also great for any method that relax wearers use such as blow drying, flat ironing and hot curling. The active ingredients act as a thermal protector against the applied heat to the hair.

Downside vs. Upside

Downside

Most natural hair wearers avoid mineral and silicone oils like the plague! We try to avoid any product that contains this ingredients because it tends to dry out our natural locks. However, some wearers, like myself, will forego the fact that the product has mineral oil in it because it also includes other ingredients that will benefit our natural locks such as Jojoba Oil, Anjelica Root and Oatmeal extracts.

Upside

What I personally found amazing about this product was, that no matter how much product I used, my hair was not GREASY! This was a major plus in my book for any moisturizing product. Most relaxed and natural wearers found that their hair was very soft to the touch after using Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1.

Users of the S-Curl product found that they appreciated the fragrance better of Hawaiian 14 in 1 and they also liked the fact that this product did not leave the greasy feel of the S-Curl product.

Where Can I Find this Product?

This product is very popular and can be found at your local beauty beauty supply store, Sally's Beauty Supply, and most major department stores!

Warning!

I've read on several hair forum boards that some customers have purchased this product from a LOCAL beauty supply store and have found that the product had been tampered with or watered down!  This causes the product to come out lumpy or the consistency of the product is not creamy and smooth.

Customers have been admonished by these boards to purchase your Hawaiian Silky product from a reputable retailer such as Sally Beauty Supply, Amazon.com, Walmarts and the like.
